About the site.

Viaraleuka is an online hub for things I make and my home base on the internet. The site went up on Neocities 3.9.2025, making the date its official birthday.

My plans for Viaraleuka are limited and ill-defined - I aim to keep the site simple and easy to navigate and try to not bite off more than I can chew. We shall see how things will shape up in the future.

"Viara"...?

Vääräleuka (lit. "crookedjaw") is a Finnish word meaning a jokester or a funnyman - particularly the verbally skilled type. Viäräleuka is the word's Savo dialect variation.

I simply like the klang of the word and have thought for the longest time that it would make for a fun online moniker. Since ä and other similar letters have only limited uses on the web, I decided to opt for an umlaut-free alternative as the name of my personal website. Spelled like this, the word doesn't mean anything.
